Kenneth Kernaghan

Kenneth Kernaghan is a Professor of Political Science and Management at Brock University. In 1996, he received the Vanier Gold Medal for distinguished contribution to the field of public administration and the Brock University Award for Distinguished Research and Creative Activity. In 1998, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Kernaghan received his Honours B.A. in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Politics and founding Director of the Faculty of Business at Brock. He is the author or editor of many books and articles on Canadian public administration and public policy. His co-authored Public Administration in Canada: A Text is in its third edition.

 

Dr. Kernaghan was President of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada for 1987-1988, and from 1979 to 1987 he served as Editor of Canadian Public Administration, the Institute's learned journal. He has also served as Chairman of the Institute's Research Committee and as the founding Director of the Case Program in Canadian Public Administration. He has been Chairman of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Ontario Council on University Affairs, and since 1989 he has been Editor of the International Review of Administrative Sciences which is the learned journal of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (Brussels). He is also a Senior Fellow of the Canadian Centre for Management Development, the Government of Canada’s management training school and from 1989 until 2006 he was the Editor of the International Review of Administrative Sciences which is the learned journal of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences.
