Wendy MacDonald is the principal of her recently established consulting firm, Wendy MacDonald & Associates Inc. She is currently engaged in several public policy and research projects, including the Knowledge Assessment Methodology Project. Under the KAM project, PEI is the first world test site for a methodology developed by the U.S. National Research Council to assess the capacity and readiness of a jurisdiction to participate in the knowledge economy. Prior to becoming a self-employed knowledge worker, Wendy worked in a variety of policy and management capacities in the public services of Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island, most recently as Deputy Minister of Higher Education and then Assistant Cabinet Secretary, responsible for corporate policy and intergovernmental issues. Her education includes a B.A. in Political Studies from Queen's University and an M.Sc. in Public Administration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics. Wendy and her husband Albert, and their four children live in an old farmhouse on the North Shore of PEI.
